TISSUE
Made with biodegradable polyamide yarns, unlike common fibers that take decades to decompose, Maya products, when discarded in landfills, decompose in less than 3 years, reducing environmental impact and ensuring a better world for future generations.
In the innovative technology of AMNI Soul Eco® fabric, care for the planet is present in the reuse of water used in its manufacturing process and in the emission of greenhouse gases, which are treated before being released into the environment, preserving the ozone layer and nature.
In addition, Maya products are easy to wash, quick-drying, highly breathable, and have an extremely soft feel.
UPF50 sun protection
Our products are designed for those who enjoy nature, going into the sea or the pool, and want to always feel protected.
Clothing with permanent UPF 50 sun protection.
UPF stands for Ultraviolet Protection Factor and indicates how much of the sun's UV rays are absorbed by the fabric before reaching your skin. 50 means that less than 1 unit of 50 UVA and UVB rays will pass through the fabric to the skin.
This rating offers excellent UV protection. For example, a thin white cotton shirt with a UPF rating of approximately 5 reduces 1/5 of the sun's rays hitting the skin.
The rise in skin cancer cases in recent decades is strongly linked to increasingly popular outdoor activities and recreational sun exposure. Excessive sun exposure is directly linked to the underlying cause of harmful effects on the skin. Experts believe that four out of five skin cancer cases could be prevented, as the damage caused by UV rays is avoidable.
In addition to the sun protection factor, our swimsuits have long sleeves that function like gloves, protecting even the hands.
SUSTAINABLE PRACTICES
MAYA pieces are designed to have the least possible impact on the environment.
The fashion industry is one of the most polluting industries on the planet and also one of the biggest consumers of water. Textile waste from common fibers takes decades to decompose.
We believe that with small actions we can minimize the damage to the planet.
ENVIRONMENTAL COMPENSATION CERTIFICATE

The "I Recycle" certificate guarantees that we recycle an amount of waste equivalent to 100% of what we produce in our packaging.
OUR PACKAGING
All the PVC used is recyclable. 100% of the PVC scraps generated in production are returned to the production chain to be reprocessed and transformed back into raw material.
The oil used in compressors is stored in its own container and disposed of at collection points.
BE CAREFUL WITH LEFTOVERS
One of the major problems and challenges today is waste production, a serious environmental issue. Here, all leftover material is collected and distributed for recycling.
REVERSE LOGISTICS
We also offer our customers a return channel for used items, ensuring proper disposal (reverse logistics). We are responsible for the entire product lifecycle, from creation and manufacturing to disposal. Send an email to hello@gayasunwear.com for an explanation of the procedure.
FABRIC SELECTION
Amni Soul Eco® is one of the creations of the Rhodia company, which has been present in Brazil since 1919. It is a polyamide 6.6 yarn that has been improved in its formulation to allow clothing to decompose quickly after being discarded in a landfill.
These fabrics, produced by Santaconstância, belong to the CO2control® line and are manufactured with auditable materials and processes, demonstrating a recognized commitment to sustainability in the textile sector, such as: compostability; biodegradability upon disposal; absence of genetic modifications; closed production cycles; non-use of toxic or harmful products to human health; and production traceability. They also hold Oeko-Tex® Class I and II certifications, an external and international audit that attests to the absence of toxic products in fabrics intended for contact with human skin.
LEGAL LABOR
Our employees are just as important as our customers and products. Without them, none of this would be possible. We believe in valuing our workers, with fair pay and participation in production choices and decisions. Happy producers, happy consumers.
MADE IN BRAZIL
MAYA products are manufactured in-house, made in Brazil with 100% Brazilian materials. Our close relationship with our producers and suppliers, in addition to supporting the national textile industry, guarantees our quality standards.
PRODUCTION
With local production and small quantities, we offer our customers a product made with the highest quality and fair labor practices.
We believe in the energy that each product delivers to those who consume it.
Creating a better future depends on present actions. We are responsible for our part of the world. From recycling and water conservation to our relationships with producers, suppliers, and customers, everything is produced with care and respect.
We must build a union between the conveniences of modern life and a logic that respects nature and people.
WE ARE MAYA
For Maya, being on the sea is like living life. We face calm and storms while maintaining the same balance. We chart routes and try to follow them, but sometimes it is in the moments when we are adrift that great events transform us. Being at sea is being open to the unpredictable, it is accepting being guided by the forces of nature, it is being strong and flexible at the same time.
It's not easy, but it's always worth it.
Come with Maya!
